History of almost 18 years of boosting the driving force of the European economy.
2007
Accelerating exchange: Architects of the Collaborative Transformation
Founded in 2007 by Hannes Offenbacher and Nicole Arnitz in Vienna, Wemorrow emerged from a visionary analysis of the economic deficits of that era.
As the first waves of digitalization and ecological transformation reached the market, traditional business associations and interest groups often proved too sluggish or ideologically constrained to respond.
Wemorrow filled this vacuum, creating a space for knowledge exchange that transcended industry boundaries and translated international developments into the pragmatic reality of medium-sized enterprises.
2013
Creating Space: Pioneering Infrastructure for. Innovators and Entrepreneurs.
As early as 2013, Wemorrow set a milestone in the Austrian innovation landscape by operating one of the first Cleantech Innovation Hubs in a historic Viennese city palace. This project demonstrated early on that sustainable technologies were not merely ecological necessities, but central economic location factors.
In 2015, the organization expanded to Innsbruck. By establishing a hub specifically focused on open innovation and co-creation for companies in the German-speaking Alpine region, Wemorrow strengthened regional competitiveness.
It provided a platform where traditional medium-sized businesses and modern research approaches were systematically brought together for the first time to collaborate on solutions for the challenges of the coming decade.
2016
Thinking beyond: Excellence in Networking and Leadership
Starting in 2016, Wemorrow sharpened its profile through high-caliber formats such as the Leaders Circle and Discovery Tours. These initiatives specifically targeted owners and executives with the courage to look beyond their own horizons.
At a time when technological transformation was challenging many established business models, Wemorrow provided the necessary space for strategic reorientation.
Through exclusive networking formats involving over 6,000 leaders from technology, industry, research, and the creative economy, the organization has established itself as one of the most influential interfaces for knowledge transfer.
The ability to anticipate technological and cultural disruptions early—such as the rise of electromobility, which Wemorrow addressed as early as 2012—solidified its reputation as a vanguard organization.
2025
Crossing borders: Going beyond the German speaking market.
Wemorrow’s commitment to sustainable innovation has gained international acclaim, including recognition from UNESCO. A vital pillar of the organization’s future is the independence it has maintained over the last 18 years.
Operating free from political influence and financial dependencies, Wemorrow guarantees a high level of credibility in guiding transformation processes.
Since 2025, Wemorrow has started its internationalization beyond the German speaking market of Austria, Germany and Switzerland. With active partners across 12 EU member states, the organization today serves as a catalyst for cross-border cooperation.
Today
Enabling collaboration: Securing European Value Creation
Today, Wemorrow focuses on mobilizing the European mid-market—a segment that, according to European Commission data, represents approximately 99% of all businesses in the EU and provides two-thirds of private-sector employment.
By strategically connecting these "Hidden Champions" with innovative scale-ups and strategic investors, Wemorrow enables collaborations that go far beyond traditional consultancy.
The objective is to secure the succession and long-term value creation of these systemically important companies, thereby strengthening the backbone of the European economy in an era of disruption. In doing so, Wemorrow accelerates the transition toward a collaborative economy within a united Europe.
